Researchers from the Centre listed among the world’s most cited

Four researchers associated with Stockholm Resilience Centre made it onto the 2023 Clarivate Analytics overview, a ranking of the most cited scientists in the world
The listed researchers have authored papers that rank in the top 1% in terms of citations within their respective fields.
Stockholm Resilience Centre has been continuously represented on the Clarivate ranking for more than five years. This year, Centre researchers Thomas Elmqvist, Max Troell, Johan Rockström and Carl Folke are among the listed.
“Congratulations to my colleagues whose excellent work has rightfully earned them a spot among the world’s most cited scientists. This is yet another affirmation that Centre research is making waves globally and is valued by researchers around the world who build upon it,” says Line Gordon, Centre director.
The Clarivate ranking is based on an analysis of publications and citations in scientific journals over a period of eleven years (January 2012 to December 2022). As a basis, Clarivate uses the Web of Science database.
“Highly Cited Researchers have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade”, writes Clarivate in a statement.
Two more researchers from Stockholm University are listed among the most cited: Stefano Manzoni and Gustaf Hugelius, both at the Department of Physical Geography.
