Johannes Ernstberger's work is focused on supporting the centre's press engagements and visibility on social media

Johannes Ernstberger joined the Stockholm Resilience Centre in 2022 to help increase the centre's visibility in national and international media. As part of his role, he also writes science news and produces multimedia content for the centres website. He also ensures that the Stockholm Resilience Centre has an active presence on social media. 

Ernstberger has worked with in science and policy communications for several years at Stockholm International Water Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute. He also has a background in journalism working as a reporter for local newspapers in Sweden.

Ernstberger has a BSc in human geography and a MSc in Agroecology. For his master thesis he studied why and how smallholder farmers in Tigray, Northern Ethiopia, use trees within their agricultural systems. Furthermore, he has studied a one-year journalism programme at Södertörn University.
